The Key Point Group data center in Yekaterinburg has passed Uptime Institute certification and has been commissioned

The Key Point Group data center in Yekaterinburg, located within the Craft industrial park in the Sverdlovsk Region, has successfully completed the Uptime Institute certification process, receiving confirmation of compliance with the Tier III Facility fault tolerance level.

The facility has been commissioned and has become the largest commercial data center in the Ural Federal District with such a high level of reliability. The company’s proprietary prefabricated solutions were used in the construction of the data center, while a high level of telecommunications accessibility is ensured through several mechanisms: more than six telecom operators provide redundant communication channels, and the site also features three geographically separated fiber entry points and four traffic exchange points.

The design capacity of the data center is 11 MW, with a total capacity of 880 IT racks. Backup power supply is provided by ten diesel generator units, ensuring autonomous operation of the facility for up to 72 hours in the event of a complete external power outage. The implementation of such a large-scale and technologically advanced project was made possible thanks to the many years of experience of the general contractor — a leader in the data center construction industry Open Technologies Engineering.

A wide range of client services is available on-site: organization of dedicated zones tailored to customer needs, support for IT infrastructure relocation by the Key Point Group team, the “smart hands” service, as well as other services ensuring convenient operation and management of deployed equipment.

Evgeny Virtser, CEO of Open Technologies Engineering and founder of Key Point Group, noted: “We are pleased to offer businesses in the Urals access to world-class infrastructure. The launch of the data center in Yekaterinburg strengthens the region’s IT infrastructure and lays the foundation for the further development of digital services.”
