Largest Tier III Commercial Data Center Commissioned in the Urals

On June 30, the official opening of the Key Point Group data center took place in Yekaterinburg — the largest commercial data center in the Ural Federal District with a confirmed Tier III Facility reliability level certified by the Uptime Institute. The project’s general designer and general contractor was Open Technologies Engineering.

The event was attended by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, representatives of the Investment Promotion Agency, and executives of regional companies.

“The data center we are today is the largest certified commercial data center in the Urals in terms of fault tolerance. Its services are already being used by regional companies across various industries, as well as by the country’s крупнейшие telecommunications operators. The launch of this data processing center is another step toward strengthening the region’s IT sector,” said Denis Pasler, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region. 

The data center has a designed power capacity of 11 MW and a total capacity of 880 IT racks. Uninterruptible operations are ensured by ten diesel generator units with up to 72 hours of autonomous operation. Connectivity is provided by more than six telecom carriers, three geographically diverse fiber entry points, and four Internet exchange points.

Businesses in the Urals now have access to a ready-to-use IT infrastructure offering a range of services, including colocation, server relocation support, dedicated customer zones, operational support, and smart hands services.
